Solid Foundations

The concrete foundation is what supports the weight of your buildings and should be kept dry and insect free.

There are a few things that should be checked.

1. Your foundation should be inspected for any cracking, heaving, or deterioration and repaired as necessary.

2. Make sure the grading slopes 4-6 inches away from foundation for about 3 feet.

3. Make sure downspouts are in good condition and splash pads are sloped to carry water away from buildings.

4. Inspect where pipes penetrate the foundation and seal as necessary to keep water and insects out.

Properly maintaining your building foundation will increase it’s integrity and useful life and avoid costly repairs.
